Privacy Policy

The Mixologeist · Last updated 4 September 2026

The Mixologeist does not collect any information about you. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us, and nothing about you is stored on our servers.

What the app stores

Everything the app keeps is either on your device or in your own iCloud account:

The drinks catalog

The recipes themselves are downloaded from a public database we publish through Apple's CloudKit. This is a one-way, read-only fetch: the app asks for the catalog and Apple sends it. We do not receive a record of who requested it, what you searched for, or which drinks you looked at.

If you write to us

Every drink has a Report an Issue option. It opens a draft in your own mail app — nothing is sent unless you choose to send it. If you do, we receive your email address, whatever you wrote, and three details the draft includes to help us find the problem: the drink's name, its internal identifier, and the app and iOS versions you are running.

We use that only to answer you and to fix the app. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not share it with anyone.

Third parties

The app contains no advertising networks, no analytics services, and no third-party code that collects information about you. The only outside service it uses is Apple, for iCloud sync and for delivering the catalog. Your use of iCloud is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple gives us aggregate sales and usage reports. Those come from Apple, are not linked to individuals, and are not something the app collects or sends.

Children

The Mixologeist is about alcoholic drinks and is rated accordingly. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — including children — because we do not collect information at all.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing for us to show you, correct, export, or delete. The data the app does keep is yours: deleting the app removes what is on the device, and you can remove what is stored in iCloud at any time from your device's iCloud settings.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
